Great new opening for an experienced Paralegal with our client, a Canadian and fast growing manufacturer. Full time, permanent opportunity. In Office at their Richmond Hill location. Salary: 60K - 65K, full benefits, free on-site parking.
Responsibilities
The Paralegal provides legal and administrative support to the VP, Customer Services, assisting with contract management, compliance matters, customer-related legal documentation, and internal process coordination. This role ensures that customers services operations follow applicable legal requirements and that documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies
- Legal Documentation: Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, including service agreements, NDAs, customer notices, and compliance forms.
- Contract Management: Maintain contract databases, track renewal dates, and ensure proper execution and storage of customer-related agreements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Support compliance activities related to consumer protection, warranty obligations, and industry standards.
- Customer Case Support: Assist with escalated customer matters requiring legal review, including documentation gathering and preparing case summaries.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized legal files, correspondence, and case records.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Customer Services, Operations, Sales and Legal to ensure alignment on documentation and compliance requirements.
- Research: Conduct legal research on relevant legislation, regulatory changes, and best practices affecting customer operations.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the VP, Customer Services, including scheduling, reporting, and documents preparation.
- Notary Services: Provide notary services for company documents, affidavits, declarations, and customer-related legal paperwork as permitted by law.
- Liaison With Outside Counsel: Coordination with external legal counsel as required, including preparing documentation, gathering information, and facilitating communication between departments.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Paralegal Studies or related field
- Licensed Paralegal (LSO) is an asset.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a paralegal, legal assistant within a corporate, commercial or manufacturing legal environment (in-house or law firm)
- Strong understanding of contract law, consumer rights, and documentation standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
