Our client, a global leader in high-speed automation solutions for the packaging, print, and converting industries is looking for a Senior Electrical Technologist to join their System Build Team.Engineer to join their team. In this hybrid role, you will build and wire control panels, field-wire machinery, and support electrical commissioning, while also updating and modifying electrical schematics (SOLIDWORKS Electrical) when design adjustments are needed. This is a full time and permanent opportunity at their manufacturing facility located in Concord, On. Salary: $55 per hour and full benefits.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Technologist to join our System Build team.
In this hybrid role, you’ll build and wire control panels, field-wire machinery, and support electrical commissioning, while also updating and modifying electrical schematics (SOLIDWORKS Electrical) when design adjustments are needed. You’ll act as the bridge between the engineering design team and the production floor, ensuring seamless collaboration, accuracy, and performance.
This position also includes mentorship and leadership responsibilities. You will guide other electrical technicians, share best practices, and help onboard new team members as Pack-Smart continues to grow.
International travel (up to 25%) will be required to support installations and commissioning at customer sites.
- Build and wire control panels, high-speed machinery, and field devices with precision.
- Interpret and modify electrical schematics (SOLIDWORKS Electrical or equivalent).
- Troubleshoot systems, identify root causes, and implement creative solutions.
- Support system commissioning and lead electrical installations during test and customer hand-off.
- Mentor and train electrical technicians on best practices and new technologies.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve build and documentation standards.
- Maintain workplace organization and inventory control in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering or Technology diploma/certification (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of experience in panel building, wiring, or automation machinery
- 2+ years in a lead or senior electrical technician role
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics and control systems
- Experience with SOLIDWORKS Electrical or similar CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, etc.)
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication skills, and attention to detail
- Flexibility to travel internationally up to 25% as needed.
