Responsibilities

• Prepare pricing estimates on new projects and estimate prices on change orders on existing contracts
• Read and understand various types of mechanical drawings
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
• Price work based on production rates, materials and labour costs (typical materials; carbon steel, stainless steel & aluminum)
• Produce BOMs, and associated costs
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures

 Qualifications

• Must have 5- 10 years of experience as an Estimator within the Fabricating (Steel) Industry
• Experience with both heavy and light fabrications is an asset
• Ability to read various types of Mechanical drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
