Our client is seeking an experienced certified translator for a 4 month contract.

 Responsibilities

  • Ensure translations are accurately completed on a timely basis
  • Facilitate telephone communications between Home Office and Quebec Stores (an average of two Voice Link messages per day)
  • Contribute to developing the Translation team’s in-house tools, such as glossaries, methods, and references
  • Provide advice and recommendations for language-based compliance requirements for the Quebec market and act as the specialist for clients and partners on best practices for packaging and product labeling
  • Translate an average of 1,500 words per day

 Qualifications

  • Three years of relevant experience
  • Possess advanced knowledge of translation and grammar in both French and English (document structuring, editing), as well as an understanding of policies and practices
  • Strong written- and verbal-communication skills in both English and French, including accuracy and attention to detail
  • Issue-management skills include time management, conflict management, information gathering, and team building
  • Problem-solving skills include the ability to analyze information and provide staff with solutions to problems
  • Strong customer-service skills include effectively and efficiently responding to Associate inquiries, identifying stated and unstated needs, building relationships with Associates, resolving any conflicts or problems that might arise, etc.
  • Computer skills include word processing, email, databases, and knowledge of translation software and tools (i.e., SDLX, Le Grand Dictionnaire Terminologique, and Termium)
  • Translation diploma or degree
  • English [Advanced], French [Advanced]
